2021 Pack Camping at Lone Tree
Pack 313 will be camping at Lone Tree Scout Reservation from Friday, October 15 to Sunday, October 17, 2021! Cub Scouts, siblings, and parents may join us for any combination of Friday night, Saturday, and Saturday night. We’ve reserved three campsites. Each site can hold 20 tents, so we should have plenty of room. When we see how many people from each Den are joining us, we’ll decide which site each Den will occupy. If you have Scouts in more than one Den, sign up with the Den that you’d like to share a site with. If you’re joining us on Saturday, it may be helpful to know that we’ll begin our activities at 9 am.
Each family should plan on bringing whatever camping, cooking, and eating supplies (and food) they need unless they coordinate with other families to share items (like meals or stoves or other larger equipment). We’ll make time at the October Pack meeting so adults can discuss this. You may need to carry your gear to your site (which isn’t far but may be farther than with typical car camping). For meals, we recommend getting your Scout as involved as possible (and on their way to being an independent cook!). If you’re missing a piece of equipment, ask a Den Leader, and they may know of someone with a spare.
You may arrive at Lone Tree any time after 4:00 on Friday, but most of us will probably arrive later than that (although hopefully before the 6 pm sunset). We recommend eating beforehand or bringing a prepared meal. If you arrive Friday night, plan only to carry to the campsite what you need for the night. Food and cooking supplies are best left in your car until the next day. The only cost of the trip is for your food and whatever else you need for your family. Please sign up by October 10 so we can figure out how to partition the 6 Dens into 3 campsites. You should have received the link to do this (and a lot more details) in an email from the Cubmaster. If you didn’t, let him know.
